“He must increase, but I must decrease” - John 3:30 ESV
Where to begin with this? Once upon a time… That seems cliche. Here is a quick back story and how we got to where we are today. My name is Will Robison. I am a 38 year old husband, father, Army veteran, and career firefighter. I’m married to my best friend Michelle. Together, we have three daughters; Georgia, Annabelle, and Magnolia. I have worked professionally in the Metro Atlanta area as a firefighter for almost 19 years. I also served four years in the Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. This included a tour in southern Afghanistan.
A tour in the desert sprinkled with some trauma from the terrible things you see as a firefighter became a recipe for disaster. I may have believed in God, but I had not put my faith in him. My trust wasn’t in him. I was saying to God, “I got this.” I was the Lord of my own life. Then I read a book called “Wild at Heart.” It changed my perspective on life and opened my eyes to how proud God was of me. He’s well pleased with me. Over this journey with God I rededicated my life to Jesus and now put my faith in him. Now I have bent my knee to Jesus and he is the Lord of my life! How freeing it has been to live for him!
This past July I went on my first mission trip to Nicaragua. How eye opening it was. The whole time I was there God spoke to me and said “this is what I want you to do.” Michelle and I have prayed a lot, and here we are now. Over the past couple of months we have; formed our Incorporated non profit, made a board of directors, opened bank accounts, worked with a close friend to get a website going, and had a lawyer file the paperwork for a 501c3 with the IRS. Now we’re just waiting for approval.
So what exactly is: On The Way Ministries? We are forging men in the wilderness & strengthening marriages in the home- on the way to heaven.
How are we doing that? Right now our primary focus is the men’s wilderness ministry. The mission for our men’s ministry is: Leading men to go and make disciples through life changing encounters with God in the wilderness. I’m currently hosting a men’s morning bible study every week. I’m also guiding a group of men as we tackle the Appalachian Trail in Georgia, hiking one section each month throughout the year. Each quarter, we also plan overnight adventures to build deeper connections. In July, we are taking a group of men back to Nicaragua and in September we will do a family trip. We are so honored God has chosen us and we want to live our lives each day for him.
How You Can Walk With Us
As On The Way Ministries continues to grow, we invite you to partner with us in the work God is doing. There are several ways you can come alongside us:
● Serve with us — Join us on wilderness hikes, Bible studies, mission trips, or future outreach opportunities.
● Pray for us — Pray for wisdom, protection, unity, and boldness as we follow where God leads.
● Support us financially — Your financial support helps make these life-changing experiences possible by funding trips, equipment, resources, and ministry needs.
Whether through serving, praying, or giving, your partnership allows us to continue leading men into deeper encounters with God- on the way. We are deeply grateful for your support and trust as we step forward in faith together.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. We look forward to sharing our journey with you!
With gratitude,
Will Robison
